Storyline:
In Canada, the author visited India Storyteller Pi Patel and asked him to tell his life story. Pi tells the story of his childhood in Pondicherry, India, and the origin of its name. One day, his father, owner of a zoo, said the city government no longer supports the zoo and then he decided to move to Canada, where animal families as well have to be sold. They board a cargo ship in Japan with animals and, suddenly, there was a storm, followed by shipwrecked. Pi survive in a lifeboat with a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena and a Bengal male tiger named Richard Parker. They were floating in the Pacific Ocean, with the aggressive hyenas and Rickard Parker getting hungry. Pi to find a way to survive.
